DIAPER DEAL

I have promised several people I would post the good diaper deals, so here is the best one for this week.
Target has the big box of Luvs on sale for $15. Buy two, get a $5 gift card back.

There were coupons for $1/1 in last Sunday's newspaper.

There are coupons HERE for $2/1.

So get 2 boxes, use two of each coupon, and then turn around and present the $5 gc as payment (YMMV - if they won't let you do it, use it on whatever else you are getting, just do it on a separate transaction)

2 boxes = $30
2 P&G qs = -$2
2 Target qs = -$4
1 GC = -$5
Grand total $21

August coupons

It is time to start purging your August coupons. Take the time to go through all of your coupons. If it is an outstanding coupon for something you use, make the decision on whether or not you will take it out this week and use it even if you cannot match it up to a sale. This is when I usually take all my high-dollar q's for cleaning supplies and get whatever I didn't get during the month.
All of the rest of your August coupons - just toss them! It saves much grief!
When you go through your coupons to purge them, it gives you another opportunity to see what you have in there. I know that today when I did it, I found several things in there that I had forgotten I had (like a $1/1 Tones!!! That was a great coupon!!! Free spices!).

Please forgive me for not posting the weekly deals on here for the last few weeks. I think these have just been super crazy weeks and not a whole lotta great deals! I will start back next week!
We DESPERATELY need diaper deals! It is time to restock on diapers!

Deals Aug 3

Walmart has your back to school supplies! If you find those "penny" deals at the other places, don't forget to just price match at Walmart. Save your gas! Also, print your BIC COUON here for $1/2. Walmart has their pens for .88/doz. This makes a great deal!

Staples has Free 2 pocket paper folders. I'm pretty sure Walmart will not price match this, but if you happen to be driving by Staples... Limit is 10 per customer, so send your family through one at a time!

Target has A&W, 7up, Sunkist, Diet Rite, Canada Dry 12 pks & more $10/4.
Fusion & Venus razors are 7.94 each. Use your coupons! When you buy 2, you get a $5 Target giftcard.
Life Water is $10/10. Buy 10, get a $5 giftcard. Get your BOGO coupons here!

Menards has 100 ct. Pop Ice for $1.49 after $1 MIR, limit 10 boxes.

Schnucks has Pork Chops for 2.19/lb. I had Walmart Price match this one! GD!

KMart has Pepsi products 12 pks for $10/4. Plus the stupid deposit. If you ever go over to Moline, buy all your sodas over there and make a nickle per can when you recycle in Iowa!
Cadbury Sodas ( A&W, 7up, Sunkist, etc.) 2 ltrs. are .88.

There are some great deals this week at CVS.
Dawn .88
Kleenex BOGO
REVLON BOGO
Covergirl foundation BOGO (make sure to use your BOGO coupon from the paper - get 2 free!)
Pert is BOGO, so use your coupons. There is also a MIR form in Sunday's paper - buy $5/Pert, get $5 rebate on school supplies. Must be all on one transaction.

Kellogg's deal
Check your local ads. Everyone seems to have the Kellogg's on sale for Back To School. Either 5/$10 or BOGO. Use all the Kellogg's q's from Sunday's paper, and then use the MIR form to get $10 back. Here is my scenario that I am going to use, and all from one newspaper -
Price match at Walmart from Schnuck's
6 bxs. Poptarts @3/$5 = $10
Less 2 q's for $1/2 = -$2
4 bxs. Cereal @ 5/$10 = $8
Less 2 q's for $1/2 = -$2
$14 OOP and $10 Manufacturer's Rebate~~~
Grand total TEN FOR $4.42!!! (includes price of the stamp)

This drink mix (for the 16.9 oz bottles) is on sale at WalMart for $2. There are printable coupons here for $2 off. Remember that you can hit "back" then "refresh" to print two copies, and that you can print 2 from each computer you use.

DiaPeRS

Over the last few weeks I have spoken to quite a few moms about the cost of diapering. Here is my 2¢...
There is disposable diapering and there is cloth diapering. I have done both. I like both (if you can LIKE diapering...).
DISPOSABLE DIAPERS - First, find the brands that work for you. As each kind goes on sale and you match your coupons up to the sales, try all different kinds. You may be pleasantly surprised at which dipes your youngun can wear. My kids have all been different - DD could wear ANY diaper I put on her. DS1 could ONLY wear Pampers Cruisers without leaking. DS2 can wear Pampers Cruisers, CVS Supremes, and Luvs (Ultra leakguards, not the old style). So play around with them. Lots of the store brands offer a money back guarantee.
Make sure to use your coupons and to stock up when they are on sale. Drug stores run B1G1 sales on their store brands very often. P&G runs the Pampers on sale about once/month, as does Kimberly Clark with the Huggies. Also, with Huggies you can submit your receipts to Caregivers Marketplace and get $1 back per pack. That brings the cost down. MY rule of thumb is never to pay more than $4.50/pack of diapers. (I always measure $$/pack instead of $$/diaper because once you get into different size diapers, they go up DRASTICALLY). I PREFER to pay no more than $4, but will pay up to $4.50.
Another thing to watch for is changes in packaging and styles. Once the diaper kid on the front of the package changes, or the wording, or anything, the stores put them on clearance. This doesn't happen (to my knowledge) at your big stores like WalMart, but it DOES happen at Target, CVS, Walgreens, etc.
You can email to Kimberly Clark & Proctor & Gamble, praise their products, and they will send you coupons. These are usually the best q's you're gonna find, so do it, have your mama do it, have your sister do it, and get your neighbors to do it. Luvs has never sent me any q's, but I still write & beg for them occasionally.
CLOTH DIAPERS - Cloth requires some commitment. Unless you are committed to it, you will not save any money. They are initially a huge investment. You need to buy enough to be able to wash every-other-day. The washing isn't a big deal like most people think. The way they make the dipes nowadays, they wash & dry in no time.
There are so many diapering resources on the internet. I would suggest doing much research. When I used cloth, I bought all different kinds. I like AIOs (All In One's) and HATED Pocket diapers. I hear many people with the opposite opinion, so it is worth trying both kinds to see what works for you & your baby.
More advice - if you use cloth dipes, use cloth wipes. That way you can just throw it all into the pail together. They sell really cute ones all over the internet, but I bought a slew of baby washcloths for a quarter at a second hand store and kept them in a wipes warmer with a special solution I found on the internet.
I bought my supply of diapers off the internet. I bought several second-hand dipes, ALL second-hand soakers, and mostly new covers. I paid around $90 and then sold them all 7 months later for $65. The ONLY reason why I did away with cloth was because during our move from SC I thought it would be too hard. I didn't want diapers everywhere when I was trying to sell our house, didn't want to deal with cloth while we were living in a hotel, and didn't want to deal with diapers while I was putting this household in order. By the time I got back around to it, there would have been a new investment (since he had outgrown all his old cloth dipes) and I wasn't ready to chunk out that money.
If anyone is interested in more cloth diapering information, LMK and I will email you my resources.

The Deals 7/14

The raging masses won and I will be posting the local deals. Even if they hadn't won, if there were people who still wanted me to post them I would have. I think now I will just try to group "local stuff" together.

BTW, this week is lousy for deals :(

CVS
The deal I mentioned in the last post is for this week. Use the $3 off coupon that was in the paper not long ago to make this a money maker!

BOGO Coke 2 ltrs, Gatorade, G2, Propel

The Sally Hansen products are shown as being $.99 each. There is the $3/2 q for sally hansen. buying 2 at 99 cents = 1.98 - $3 = Moneymaker. Use it as a filler, NOT alone!

Twizzlers are BOGO - use the B3G1F coupons and you can end up buying 1 at 2.49 and getting 3 free. They ARE fat free...

BOGO on the backpacks - good deal if you didn't do the backpack deal at TRU

BOGO Wrigley gum, use the q's out there to get lots of free or dang near free gum.

Target

Kelloggs & Cheerios & Selected others are 4/$7. I'm not sure what the "others" are (I always have good Fiber One q's and that is a General Mills brand). Anyways, find you some $1/1 coupons, and you can end up getting 4 boxes for $3. I like my cereal to be under a buck!

FINALLY they put the TAVA on sale!!! 2/$5. All those q's (I hope you've been printing each month!) can be put to good use! Use your q's and get them for a dollar per 4-pk. These sodas are YUMMY, no caffeine, no calories...
PRINT COUPONS HERE!
